“Therefore I tell you that the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people who will produce its fruit. Anyone who falls on this stone will be broken to pieces; anyone on whom it falls will be crushed.”
When the chief priests and the Pharisees heard Jesus’ parables, they knew he was talking about them. They looked for a way to arrest him, but they were afraid of the crowd because the people held that he was a prophet,” Matthew 21:43-46, NIV.
Choosing to produce fruit for the kingdom of God means our hearts need to be plowed, broken up—made ready to receive that which is good and right. The truth of who Jesus is, falls on us, and breaks up the decay that has settled and hardened in our hearts. And He makes our hearts new—clean and forgiven.
This breaking-up of our hearts will only happen to those who agree to accept Jesus’ gift of life, and to walk on His righteous road.
Most of the Pharisees choose to take their chances, and do things their own way. They were eventually crushed—they missed the opportunity to celebrate the Messiah, the one they had been waiting for. They perished never to have known His love or His forgiveness.
Jesus died and rose from the grave to give us this opportunity to choose. Some will choose to follow, and know God’s intimate love and forgiveness. While others will choose not to follow, and therefore, never fully understand God’s love.
It’s always our choice. Hope you’re choosing Jesus today.

Love this reminder, I read that we should not be like a fig tree, full of green leaves but no fruit. We need to be not only saying we are a Christ follower but in our actions, let God prune us so we can also produce fruit...to be listening and following.
Susie , thank you for making this Holy Week more special and prepared our hearts for the big day “ The Resurrection Sunday”.
The power of choice ~ so important and imperative, yet so many in our over-indulgent and complacent/indifferent culture are just 'slipping and sliding' through life and aren't even considering or contemplating what the most important choice they need to make in their life is ~ Jesus! When we hear of how God is building His Kingdom/Church in other parts of the world and how entire villages of people upon hearing about Jesus are receiving Him en mass ~ yet here in North America many who have known the Truth are turning away from Him and some are actually 'dismantling their faith' and rejecting Him! This should be cause for deep concern and self-reflection! Every day we have a choice as…
