Suddenly

“Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.” When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.” So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told,”
Luke 2:13-20 NIV.
Suddenly, without warning or notice.
Even if one had been studying the ancient text of God and knew of His eminent arrival, Jesus’ birth would still be accompanied with a “suddenly.” It would have been like turning on the kitchen light before sunrise—it’s suddenly bright.
The arrival of our King Jesus, Savor and Lord, is without doubt the most important event in human history. Light into darkness, goodness replacing evil. God with men, righting our wrongs! The birth of King Jesus is truly a hallelujah moment!
Let’s remember it as if it were happening to us today. Let’s draw near to the amazing impact this moment had on the trajectory of history.
And know you are now part of it!
King Jesus, who conquered death, and who lives in our hearts through His very Spirit, was born!
Now we have the amazing privilege of being His shepherds and of spread His good news!
Father,
Help us do this right.
Amen.
Amen!
